Powertrain

Avenger's two spirited engines effectively combine strength with fuel efficiency to ensure that its sporty looks do not deceive.

  • The available, robust 3.5-liter 235-horsepower V6 engine is teamed with a refined, available six-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick®, that shifts precisely between gears.
  • The 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve World Engine incorporates innovative Dual Variable Valve Timing (DVVT), which allows the engine to operate more efficiently, delivering an increase in horsepower and 30
    mpg on the highway.

Handling

The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicle during extreme steering maneuvers. ESC senses  when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels. The control you'll feel is astonishing.

An important aspect of ESC, Avenger's traction control system, is tuned for on-road activity during normal operation. When wheel spin occurs the system maintains traction by applying the brakes and in some cases closing the throttle to minimize spin during acceleration.

Warranty

We're confident in our vehicles and we're backing them with a new 5-year / 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. The powertrain limited warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component - engine, transmission and drive system - on most new Dodge, Jeep® and Chrysler vehicles. Coverage now also includes free towing to the nearest Dodge, Jeep® or Chrysler dealer, if necessary. The warranty is transferable too, so if you sell your vehicle during the warranty period, the new owner will still be covered.

Plus, our 3-year / 36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for your vehicle, from the body to the electrical system.

Accident Avoidance

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Avenger's Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts the driver to low-pressure tires via a warning light in the instrument cluster. With the premium system, individual tire pressure is displayed on the available Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC).
